Boston is the capital and most populous city of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the United States, and also the seat of Suffolk County. The city proper covers 48 square miles making it the largest city in New England and the 22nd most populous city in the United States.
Boston is also one of the oldest cities in the United States.
